So my "boss" is telling us that we need to work harder today, and that we'll talk about it tomorrow in the daily meeting that we have.
well fuck that, what's my incentive to work harder? I'll be more tired by the end of the shift, get fewer hours, and anytime you try to push yourself to the limit, you increase your chances of injury. so basically my only "incentive" to work harder is to keep this OH SO LOVELY job. I DO NOT WANT TO FUCKING MOVE PACKAGES FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE, why should I take pride in this work, it's a shit job that doesn't pay enough. Firing me, or making me so annoyed that I quit would be doing me a favor.
Speaking of injury... they neither supplied me with, nor recommended that I get a weight belt... this job is entirely impossible if you took time to lift every package from the ground level with your legs.
it's funny, just last saturday (basically the last day i worked) we had a meeting where the manager brought up shit about quality of life here at fedex. one of the things was he didn't want use to come here only for the money, but for friends we work with... no shit, you'd have to pay us more if it was only the money we were after.
here's an intristing point... there's also no incentive for me to show up early... i recently found out that no matter when i clock in, i only start getting paid at 4am... but of course the one day i'm 5 minutes late because i had to jumpstart my car, it gets noted.
 These trucks are filled ceiling to floor, then you magically lift up the floor and there's another 4-5 feet of packages down there. Ever find a footprint on your package? LOL yeah, the main thing they care about is getting them out of the truck faster and faster. if a package gets jammed on the belt, feel free to climb out of the belly of the truck, crushing as many packages as possible. Packages over 70Lbs without a safety sticker? sure thing, seems to be common practice here. The only thing they shit their pants over are Hazmats. (hazerdous materials, the shit that could burn through your face) This is what I do daily... fuck.
