I just heard today that final fantasy 4 has been released for the GBA. holy shit. I got a GBA a couple years ago in the hopes that someone would release the good SNES rpg's on the system. It's about damn time, now we just need cronotrigger and FF6.
Speaking of RPG's on the GBA, I've been playing Golden Sun 2: The Lost Age recently, and i must give it props. it's what pokemon should have been.
In the first game, your overall mission or quest is to prevent the lighting of the 4 elemental lighthouses. Lighting the lighthouses will release a seal on "Psynergy" (magic). It is believed by some that releasing this seal will eventually destroy the world of weyard.
Despite all your efforts, you fail miserably... arriving only minutes after each light house has been lit by your enemies. End Game 1.
In game two, you take controll of a party trying to do the exact opposite. Through your journey's in this game, you come to realize that the world of weyard is in fact dying, but it is because of the lack of psynergy "feeding" the world. atleast that's what you whole heartedly believe. You meet up with the group from the first game as you are lighting the 3rd lighthouse and convince them to join in your quest. you will soon after light the 4th lighthouse, but i don't know what will happen, i haven't beaten it yet.
There are four elements, Earth, fire, wind and water that compose everything in weyard. These are the basis for the lighthouses, psynergy powers, and creatures called "djinni's". (this is where pokemon comes in) You can collect these djinni creatures boost your power, HP, PP (psynergy points) and defence if you set them to a character. In battle, you can unleash their special function, whether it be an elemental based attack or healing your characters. After you release 1 or more djinni, you can use them to cast summons. (very similar to FF7)
Each summon requires different numbers and types of djinni's, but once they've been used in summoning, they goto a recovery mode, and eventually reset to your characters.
The gameplay is a typical turn based rpg, up to 4 characters in your party at once, combined with puzzle solving similar to games like zelda. Guaranteed to give you 30+ hours of entertainment for each game.
gotta catch 'em all! 85%

| Firefox likes to take 100% width and force it onto a new line, and * width to mean take only as much as it needs. This text is in here to force FF to display 100% the same way that IE does. Ghetto fix FTW! OMG! a hidden counter! Views:
