I had a couple ideas for an MMO, they're not really overall idea's for a whole game, but rather just some things i would like to see at some point.

I can remember playing the Elemental Saga beta test befor it was scrapped by Nexon. (I may have talked about it before, not sure) The reason they scrapped the project was, i assume, the complete lack of any depth to the gameplay.

The major thing i liked about that game was the adventure... for example, there was a dungeon below one of the buildings in the first big town. there was no map already made, there was no feature that would auto map where you had already been. you didn't know how many levels there were to the dungeon or what you would find at the bottom. There was danger and mystery and adventure even with the lack of gameplay.

My idea is for a MMO where adventure is the main aspect of the gameplay. there would only be a limited map of "known" areas of the world. I imagine the typical gameplay would consist of getting supplies in town then embarking with a group or by yourself on a full day trek into the unknown.

I would try to make going to town unnecessary and the vast majority of the time would be spent in the massive wilderness alone or with a party. Encountering another person or party outside of town would be a rare occurance.

I Still think there should be a fast way to get back to town, such as the hearthstone from WoW, and possibly a fast way between towns, but i wouldn't want too many towns, as the focus of the game would be adventureing. Finding ruined cities, hidden tunnels and dungeons within those cities, finding massive caves to explore, and hundreds of smaller one's, with no real story or quests to anything. Perhapse after being out in the world for a week you would travel back to town to sell artifacts or raw materials you've found.

I would be willing to have a mapping system in place that would record where you've been to, mark the dungeons and caves and locations on your map aswell as have a sketch of where you've explored within those places because it wouldn't detract from the adventure.

I don't know if this is done in any game yet, but i would like to see the world be an actual sphere instead of a flat plane. It would have to be large enough to not be obvously round when you are just walking about though. (FF7 and 8 did this pretty well i think...)

Firefox likes to take 100% width and force it onto a new line, and * width to mean take only as much as it needs. This text is in here to force FF to display 100% the same way that IE does. Ghetto fix FTW! OMG! a hidden counter! Views: 67
